Castle Mountain Railway


Address: South Table Mesa next to Castle Rock, S. of 32nd Ave.

This funicular railway with big yellow cable cars, took people up to the top of Castle Rock. These funicular lines were popular for a time but abandoned in 1919-1923. This railway was built by Charles Quaintance and opened May 17, 1913, and was mostly used by people going to the dance pavilion atop Castle Rock.
