This home was one of many built in Golden in 1873, Golden's largest per capita building boom to date. It was constructed by Charles H. Case near the White Ash Coal Mine he ran at the time. The contractors who built it were James L. Boutwell and Thompson. It was placed on the National Historic Register with the 12th Street Historic District in 1983.
