Henry P. Corbin School

Address: Off Cty. Hwy 96 on Corbin Ranch near Foxton

The 320-acre ranch where the school was located was homesteaded by Elias H. Corbin (Huff) , Lee Corbin's son, and his wife Marguerite C. in 1924. A two-room hand hewn log cabin was built in late 1920s as a school for their daughter, Betty, who was the only child ever to attend. A teacher lived in one room and school was conducted in the other. The family home was nearby. In 1943, the property was sold to Joseph J. Kitto who razed the home and converted the school house. John and Eleanor Miller of Denver bought the acreage in 1957 and have made many improvements. They resided year-round at the ranch as of 1994.
