Woodrun Park funds were approved in 1985. At this time the 9.3-acre development was to be another school-park arrangement. After the adoption of Capital Improvement Program, there was a strong possibility that the School District was not going to develop the school site. Eventually developer fees were augmented by some Jefferson County Open Space land. The park includes an automatic irrigation system, small playground, multi-purpose pad, seating areas, ball and soccer fields. There are nine acres in blue grass, seven acres in natural grass, tree and shrub plantings. There is also a greenbelt trail along Dry Creek.
