Arvada Equestrian Center

Address: 76th Ave. & Indiana St., Arvada, 80005

An Agreement was drawn up on February 25, 1972 between North Jeffco Recreation and Park District and the Denver Polo Club. The District will provide an area at the Sports Complex (58th and Miller) which they lease from the Department of Institutions for recreation and sports activities. The Denver Polo Club erected a Polo Arena and the District provided parking for cars, trucks and horse trailers. The field was completed in 1973 and was known as the Denver Polo Club of Arvada. It became known as the Cowboy Polo Club of Arvada when this club won the 1973 National and World Championship. In 1974 four tournaments were held at the Arvada Polo Club, and the Cowboy Polo Club went on a national tour. Because this facility had outgrown its limits, the Arvada Horseman's Association requested that an area at 76th and Indiana be used for this purpose and that it should henceforth be known as The Arvada Equestrian Center.
